How Salesforce prices Agentforce, Data 360 and Marketing Cloud

Flex Credits, per-user editions, profiles and per-org plans, explained in plain English with Salesforce's current list prices and what actually drives the bill.

Home›Salesforce pricing explained

Prices checked October 22, 2026. These are Salesforce US list prices, billed annually unless noted, linked to the Salesforce page each one comes from. Salesforce marks them subject to change, and real contracts are negotiated. Seas The Cloud is an independent consultancy and does not resell licenses.

The short answer

Salesforce now prices its AI and data products on usage more than on seats. Agentforce and Data 360 share one currency, Flex Credits, while Marketing Cloud is still priced per org by edition. Here is how each one is sold today.

ProductHow Salesforce prices itList price fromSource
AgentforcePer action (Flex Credits), per conversation, or per user$0.10 per action, $2 per conversation, $5 per user/monthSalesforce
Data 360 (formerly Data Cloud)Flex Credits for processing, or per 1,000 profilesFree starter allotment; $240 per 1,000 profiles/yearSalesforce
Marketing Cloud NextPer org per month, by edition$1,500 per org/month (Growth)Salesforce
Marketing Cloud EngagementPer org per month, sized by contacts and messages$2,000 per org/month (Pro+)Salesforce

Flex Credits in one minute

Flex Credits are the usage currency behind Agentforce and Data 360. They list at $500 per 100,000 credits, which is half a cent per credit. Salesforce's Flex Credits rate card sets how many credits each thing uses: an Agentforce action is 20 credits, a voice action 30, and Data 360 work is charged per million rows processed.

  • They expire. Credits must be used by the end of the contract term, with no rollover, so over-buying is money lost.
  • Sandboxes count. Testing in a sandbox uses credits too, at a slightly lower rate (16 credits per Agentforce action instead of 20).
  • You can watch them. The Salesforce Digital Wallet is a free console that shows credit consumption in near real time.
  • Some come bundled. The Core, Advanced and Max editions and Data 360 provisioning each include an annual credit allotment.

Agentforce pricing

Agentforce is Salesforce's platform for AI agents. There are three ways to pay for it, and the right one depends on who uses the agent and how often. Full detail on the Agentforce pricing page.

ModelList priceBest fit
Flex Credits (per action)$500 per 100,000 credits. Standard action 20 credits ($0.10), voice action 30 ($0.15)Most new deployments, especially internal and multi-step agents
Conversations$2 per conversationCustomer-facing agents with predictable volume. Cannot be mixed with Flex Credits in one org
Agentforce User License$5 per user/month, plus Flex CreditsGiving many employees access to agents
Agentforce add-ons (Sales, Service, Field Service)$125 per user/month ($150 for Industries)Heavy employee use without metering
Core / Advanced / Max editions$195 / $395 / from $550 per user/month, with 500K / 1M / 2.75M Flex Credits per org per yearBuying the CRM and Agentforce together

A worked example

Take 1,000 customer conversations a month where the agent takes three actions each, say looking up an order, checking a policy and updating a case. On Flex Credits that is 3,000 actions at 20 credits, or 60,000 credits: $300 at list. On the per-conversation model the same month is $2,000. If most conversations take no action at all, Flex Credits look even better, because Salesforce says a simple chat without a task uses no credits. If each conversation runs a long chain of actions, the gap narrows.

What drives Agentforce cost

  • The number of actions per conversation, and whether they are voice or digital
  • How many employees need agent access, which decides per-user against per-action
  • Data 360 grounding underneath the agent, which uses its own credits for queries and document processing
  • Testing in sandboxes before launch

Two things are not priced yet. Agents calling your org through MCP or APIs are listed on the rate card as "to be announced", and a pre-commit buying option is listed as coming later. If either matters to your plan, ask your account team directly. See how we approach Agentforce implementation.

Data 360 pricing

Data 360 is the product Salesforce called Data Cloud until October 2025. It unifies customer data into profiles that Marketing Cloud and Agentforce can use. Salesforce prices it in three layers. Full detail on the Data 360 pricing page and in Salesforce's Data 360 pricing guide.

  • Provisioning, free. Enterprise, Unlimited and Professional edition customers can turn on Data 360 at no charge, with 1 TB of storage and 250,000 Flex Credits a year.
  • Data 360 Starter, $60,000 a year. 10 million credits a year and 5 TB of storage.
  • Flex Credits or Profiles. Either pay per use at $500 per 100,000 credits, or pay per profile: $240 per 1,000 profiles a year, or $420 for Enterprise Profiles with higher limits.

What each step costs in credits

On the Flex Credits model, each step of processing has its own rate. These are the base-tier rates from the August 2026 rate card. The rate per million rows drops as monthly usage climbs through Salesforce's volume tiers.

What Data 360 doesFlex Credits per unit (base tier)Unit
Data prep40per 1M rows processed
Unification (identity resolution)75,000per 1M rows processed
Segmentation50per 1M rows processed
Activation60per 1M rows processed
Queries3per 1M rows processed
Streaming pipeline3,500per 1M rows processed
Real-time pipeline250,000per 1M events, API calls and actions
Batch ingestion and zero-copy integrationsFree

The table explains why Data 360 bills vary so much. Unification uses over a thousand times the credits of segmentation for the same rows, so how often you run identity resolution, and on how many records, usually decides the bill. Salesforce's own pricing guide works through a retailer with 10 million profiles, daily processing and an AI service agent: about 22 million credits, roughly $110,000 a year at list price, most of it unification and agent actions.

One caution: organizations that bought Data Cloud before February 2026 may still be on the older Data Services Credits rate card, which uses different numbers. Check which card your contract references before estimating. Read more about Data 360 consulting and implementation.

Marketing Cloud pricing

Marketing Cloud is priced per org per month, billed annually, and comes in two families. Marketing Cloud Next runs on the core Salesforce platform with Data 360 underneath. Marketing Cloud Engagement, the product many teams know as SFMC, is now sold as Plus editions sized by contacts and message volume. Full detail on the Marketing Cloud pricing page and the Engagement pricing page.

EditionList priceWhat it is
Marketing Cloud Next Growth$1,500 per org/monthAgentic content, multi-channel journeys, forms and landing pages, consent, attribution
Marketing Cloud Next Advanced$3,250 per org/monthGrowth plus agentic campaigns, conversational email, SMS, WhatsApp, RCS and AI engagement scoring
Engagement Pro+$2,000 per org/monthIncludes 2.5M emails and 15K contacts
Engagement Corporate+$5,500 per org/monthIncludes 10M emails, 1M mobile app messages, 45K contacts
Engagement Enterprise+$30,000 per org/monthIncludes 150M emails, 10M mobile app messages, 500K contacts

What drives Marketing Cloud cost

  • Which family and edition, and for Engagement, your contact count and email and mobile volumes
  • Channels: SMS, WhatsApp and RCS sit in Advanced and are usage-billed
  • Add-ons such as Personalization, Intelligence and Loyalty, each a significant monthly fee
  • Data 360 consumption underneath segmentation and activation

If you are on Engagement today and weighing the move, our Marketing Cloud Next page covers what changes, and the readiness assessment puts numbers to your own estate.

How the three fit together

The products share more than a vendor. Flex Credits pay for both Agentforce actions and Data 360 processing out of one pool. Data 360 sits underneath Marketing Cloud Next and is what grounds Agentforce in real customer data. So an estimate for one usually needs an estimate for the others, which is the thinking behind our Trifecta framework.

What implementation involves

Licenses and implementation are separate bills. Licenses go to Salesforce. Implementation is the work of making the products do something useful for your business, and its cost depends on scope rather than on the license price.

Where implementation effort goes

1
DiscoveryWhich use case comes first, and what it needs from your data.
2
Data model and identity rulesHow many sources, and how records are matched into one profile.
3
IntegrationsConnecting the systems the use case depends on.
4
BuildJourneys, segments, agent topics and actions, configured and tested.
5
EnablementYour team trained to run it, with monitoring of usage and cost.

Design choices made here also set your ongoing credit bill: how often unification runs, what streams in real time and what can wait for a batch. Designing for the volume you actually need is often the biggest saving available.

What changed in 2025 and 2026

  • May 2025: Flex Credits introduced for Agentforce, at $0.10 per action, alongside $2 conversations.
  • June 2025: per-user Agentforce add-ons and the Agentforce 1 Edition announced.
  • October 2025: Data Cloud renamed Data 360.
  • 2026: Data 360 purchases moved to Flex Credits, batch ingestion became free, and profile-based pricing and Data 360 Starter were published.
  • August 2026: a new rate card added volume tiers for Data 360.
  • September 2026: Core, Advanced and Max editions replaced Enterprise, Unlimited and Agentforce 1 for new buyers in Sales, Service and Industries.

Salesforce issued several rate card updates in 2026 alone, which is why we date this page and recheck it.

Salesforce pricing questions

How much does Agentforce cost?

Salesforce lists three ways to pay. Per action with Flex Credits, at $500 per 100,000 credits, where a standard action uses 20 credits, about $0.10. Per conversation, at $2 for customer-facing agents. Or per user, from a $5 per user per month license that draws on Flex Credits, to $125 per user per month add-ons for Sales, Service and Field Service, to editions from $550 per user per month. These are list prices; contracts are negotiated.

What are Salesforce Flex Credits?

Flex Credits are the single usage currency for Agentforce and Data 360. They list at $500 per 100,000 credits. Every action or unit of data processing uses a set number of credits from Salesforce's rate card, and unused credits expire at the end of the contract term, with no rollover.

Is the $2 per conversation price still available?

Yes. It is still on Salesforce's Agentforce pricing page for customer-facing agents. It cannot be used in the same org as Flex Credits, so most buyers choose one model or the other.

Does Agentforce use credits if the agent only chats?

Under Flex Credits, Salesforce's Data 360 pricing guide says no credits are used for a simple conversational exchange when the agent is not performing a task. Credits are consumed when the agent takes an action.

What are the Core, Advanced and Max editions?

They are Salesforce's editions for Sales, Service and Industries introduced in September 2026: Core at $195, Advanced at $395 and Max from $550 per user per month, billed annually, with 500K, 1M and 2.75M Flex Credits per org per year. Max is the successor to the Agentforce 1 Edition.

Is Data 360 the same as Data Cloud?

Yes. Salesforce renamed Data Cloud to Data 360 in October 2025. It is the same product, and pricing has since moved to Flex Credits and profile-based plans.

Is Salesforce Data 360 free?

Partly. Enterprise, Unlimited and Professional edition customers can provision Data 360 at no charge, with 1 TB of storage and 250,000 Flex Credits a year according to Salesforce's 2026 pricing guide, and batch ingestion is free. Most production use cases need more credits or a paid plan.

What is the most expensive part of Data 360?

Usually identity resolution, which Salesforce calls unification. At the base tier it uses 75,000 credits per million rows processed, so running it often on a large or fast-changing customer base adds up quickly. Streaming and real-time pipelines are the other heavy meters.

How much does Marketing Cloud Next cost?

Salesforce lists Marketing Cloud Next Growth Edition at $1,500 per org per month and Advanced Edition at $3,250 per org per month, billed annually. Messaging and Data 360 usage can add to that.

Does Marketing Cloud Engagement still exist?

Yes. Salesforce now sells it as Plus editions that include Marketing Cloud Next capabilities: Pro+ at $2,000, Corporate+ at $5,500 and Enterprise+ at $30,000 per org per month, each with set contact and message volumes.

Why do two companies pay different prices for the same product?

Salesforce's pricing pages show list prices that are subject to change. What you actually pay depends on term length, volume, the credits bundled into your editions, whether an older contract uses legacy Data Services Credits, and negotiation with your account team.

Does Seas The Cloud sell Salesforce licenses?

No. Seas The Cloud is an independent Salesforce consultancy. We help you work out what you need and design to the volume you will actually use, and you buy licenses from Salesforce. Implementation work is scoped and priced separately, in writing, after a first call.
